Get me to write!

I love writing things to order - not specifically to order, but give me some words or phrases, perhaps an object or two, and I'll try to write a story with them in it.  This hitting of targets usually leads to a different kind of story (hopefully a good one), but it's a story all the same, and it gets me writing.  Sometimes, however, I (think I) manage to slip them in imperceptibly.

So please, if you're out there, give me a few things and I'll try to put them in a story.  (Eventually.  The last set had to be in my head for a year before they came out as "Keep, Sell, Charity, Throw".)

Brackets.  They're good for tangents (or subthoughts [yes, I think I mean subthoughts]).
